Ameitaka OSHA kwa kushirikiana na wadau katika masuala ya usalama mahali pa kazi kuhakikisha wafanyakazik wanakuwa na mazingira yatakayowawezesha kuwa salama na kupata furaha na matumaiani kisha kupata ari ya kuendelea kufanya kazi na kuongeza ufanisi kazini.

Kwa upande wake, Naibu Waziri, Ofisi ya Waziri Mkuu (Kazi, Vijana, Ajira na Wenye Ulemavu), Mhe. Patrobasi Katambi akimwakilisha Waziri wa Nchi, Ofisi ya Waziri Mkuu Sera, Bunge na Uratibu, Mhe. Jenista Mhagama amesema Serikali inashirikiana ILO kuhakikisha Tanzania inazingatia usalama na afya mahala pa kazi.
” Serikali ina wajibu wa kilinda nguvu kazi ya Taifa kwa kuwa afya njema ni mtaji wa nguvu kazi pia tunasheria ya kuhakikisha afya ya mzalishaji inalindwa”, amesema Mhe. Kaatambi.
Naye, Mtendaji Mkuu wa Wakala wa Usalama na Afya Mahala pa Kazi (OSHA), Bi. Khadija Mwenda amesema kuwa wafanyakazi ni wadau muhimu katika kufikia malengo ya taifa hivyo tukio hili lina lengo la kuhamasisha kuhusu usalama mahala pa kazi ili kukuza uwekezaji na mafanikio yanayotarajiwa katika nchi.
“OSHA tutaendelea kusimamia majukumu yetu kwa mustakabali wa Taifa letu na tutaendelea kutoa elimu kuhusu umuhimu wa usalama na afya mahala pa kazi”, amesema Bi.
Mkurugenzi wa Mkazi wa Shirika la Kazi Duniani (ILO), Bi. Caroline Mugalla amesema kuwa kauli mbiu ya mwaka huu inaeleza umuhimu wa kuchukua taadhari ili kulinda afya za wafanyakazi.
” Naipongeza Serikali kwa kuridhia mikataba miwili ya mchakato huu unaendelea kupitia makubaliano ya pamoja baina ya Wafanyakazi na Serikali ili kuleta ufanisi mahali pa kazi na ILo tunaahidi kutoa ushirikiano kwao.
“Tunashuhudia nchi jirani zinakuja Tanzania kujifunza kuhusu usalama mahala pa kazi ILO tutaendelea kushirikiana nanyi”. Amesema Bi. Caroline.
Mwakilishi wa Mkurugenzi Mtendaji wa Chama cha Waajiri (ATE) ametoa wito kwa Serikali na Waajiri kuweka mikakati ya kukabiliana na mabadiliko ya hali ya hewa inayozingatia usalama na afya mahala pa kazi.
Aidha, Mwakikishi wa Rais wa Shirikisho la Vyama vya Wafanyakazi (TUCTA), Bi. Juliana Mpanduji amesema kuwa TUCTA itaendelea kushirikiana na Serikali, OSHA na ATE ili kulinda nguvu kazi kwa ajili ya maendeleo ya Taifa.
Madhimisho hayo ya Siku ya Usalama na Afya Mahala Pa Kazi yenye kauli mbiu “Athari za Mabadiliko ya Nchi katika Usalama na Afya Kazini: Jisajili na OSHA kushiriki Mapambano dhidi ya Athari hizo” yameambatana na shughuli mbalimbali ikiwemo semina kuhusu masuala ya usalama na afya mahala pa kazi.
Awali, Dkt. Biteko alikagua mabanda mbalimbali ya Ofisi, Taasisi, Mashirika na Mamlaka ambapo alipata maelezo kuhusu utendaji wake, ufanisi na changamoto wazokabiliana nazo.
