Rais Mstaafu wa Serikali ya Awamu ya Nne Mhe. Dkt. Jakaya Kikwete amepongeza kampeni maalum ya kuchangia fedha katika utekelezaji wa afua za masuala ya UKIMWI nchini ya Kilimanjaro HIV & AIDS Challenge 2023 kwa kuzingatia mchango wake katika mapambano dhidi ya VVU na UKIMWI nchini.
Ametoa pongezi hizo mapema Julai 14, 2023 wakati wa hafla ya kuwaaga wapanda Mlima Kilimanjaro na waendesha baiskeli kuzunguka mlima huo katika lango la Machame Mkoani Kilimanjaro ikiwa ni sehemu ya kampeni hiyo kwa mwaka huu.
Naibu Waziri Ofisi ya Waziri Mkuu (Sera, Bunge na Uratibu) Mhe. Ummy Nderiananga akizungumza na kumkaribisha mgeni rasmi wakati wa Hafla ya kuwaaga wapanda mlima na waendesha baiskeli kuzunguka mlima Kilimanjaro ikiwa ni sehemu ya Kampeni ya GGM Kili Challenge 2023, hafla ilifanyika katika Lango la Machame Mkoani Kilimanjaro Julai 14, 2023.
Mhe. Dkt. Kikwete alisema kampeni hiyo ina mchango mkubwa katika kufikia Kampeni ya Kitaifa ya kufikia malengo ya SIFURI TATU, yaani Sifuri ya maambukizo mapya ya Virusi vya UKIMWI, Sifuri ya Unyanyapaa na Ubaguzi kwa watu wanaoishi na VVU na Sifuri ya vifo vitokanavyo na UKIMWI kwa kuzingatia mchango wa kifedha unaopatikana na kusaidia utekelezaji wa afua za UKIMWI nchini.
“Kazi iliyofanywa na ndugu zetu GGM wameonesha njia wanastahili kuungwa mkono, hivyo basi, niziombe Jumuiya za wafanyabiashara, makampuni na sekta binafsi pamoja na Watanzania wote kwa ujumla, kuunga mkono kampeni ya Kill Challenge kwa miaka ijayo,”alisema

Akieleza uzoefu wa ushiriki wake katika kampeni hiyo alisema ni jambo muhimu kwa kuzingatia mchango wa tukio hilo katika masuala ya Afua za UKIMWI na linamatokeo mengi mazuri ikiwemo la kujijenga kiafya, kuchochea hali ya uzalendo kwa nchi yetu pamoja na kuimarisha mahusiano kati yetu na mataifa mengine kwani wapo washiriki wa mataifa mengine ikiwemo Afrika Kusini.
“Binafsi ninafarijika kuendelea kuwa sehemu ya mafanikio haya, kwani leo ninashiriki kwa mara ya tatu tukio kama hili adhimu ambapo niliwahi kushiriki pia mara ya kwanza tarehe 2 Mei, 2014 na tarehe 21 Julai, 2016, hivyo naipongeza TACAIDS pamoja na Geita Gold Mining Limited ambao ndio waanzilishi na waratibu wa program hii ya Kilimanjaro Challenge Against HIV and AIDS, ni jambo la kuungwa mkono na kupongezwa, hongereni sana,”alisema.
Baadhi ya Watumishi tutoka Tume ya Kudhibiti UKIMWI Nchini (TACAIDS) wakiagana na viongozi wa taasisi hiyo mara baada ya kuanza rasmi kupanda mlima Kilimanjaro ikiwa ni sehemu ya Kampeni ya Kili Challenge 2023.
Aidha aliipongea Serikali katika kupambana na maambuzi ya VVU na UKIMWI ambapo kupitia program hii wadau wanapata fursa kuchangia fedha kwa ajili ya kusaidia jitihada za Serikali na wananchi katika mapambano haya.
“Kwa namna ya kipekee kabisa naipongeza Serikali ya Awamu ya Sita inayoongozwa na Rais wetu mpendwa Dkt. Samia Suluhu Hassan kwa namna ilivyojipanga kuongeza nguvu ya mapambano haya kwa kuendelea kutenga fedha nyingi kwa ajili ya utekelezaji wa afua za masuala ya UKIMWI Nchini.

Alitumia nafasi hiyo kuwaasa washiriki kutimiza malengo kwa kushikamana, upendo na kuwa na umoja katika zoezi hilo ili kukamilika kwa namna lilivyokusudiwa.
“Washiriki wote 61 ikiwemo wapanda mlima (Climbers) thelathini na sita na wanaouzunguka kwa baiskeli ishirini na tano mmeonesha ushujaa wa hali ya juu kwa kujitoa kwenu na kuwa tayari kupanda mlima na wengine kuendesha baiskeli mmefanya jambo kubwa na zuri la kuigwa,”.
Aliongezea kuwa, kushiriki zoezi hili ambalo si jepesi imedhihirisha kuwa bado ipo dhamira ya dhati miongoni mwa Watanzania na wadau ya kuendeleza mapambano haya, na yatafanikiwa iwapo pataendelea kuwa na dhamira ya dhati kwa kila mmoja wetu na ushirikiano wa pamoja kufikia ushindi unaoutarajia.
